Turnover increased in all economic activities. The strongest growth (at 21%) was recorded in the turnover of second-hand shops and in non-store retail (stalls, markets, direct sales).
Grocery store sales increased 1% from January 2021.
Between December 2021 and January 2022, the turnover of retail businesses fell by 20%, a common phenomenon in the period immediately following the Christmas and end of year sales.
However, according to data adjusted for seasonal variations and working days, turnover in January was the same as the previous month, according to Statistics Estonia.
