Retail sales in Slovenia rose 34.3% year-on-year in October after rising 18.6% in September, according to figures from the Ljubljana-based Bureau of Statistics (SURS).
This is the largest increase in retail activity since the series began in 2001. Automotive fuel sales grew the most, by 97.2% year-on-year in October, and trade in non-food products increased by 13.1%.
At the same time, sales of food products increased by 7.6%.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade rose 13%, following an upwardly revised 2.9% rise the previous month.
