Year-over-year retail trade grew 13% in Saskatchewan, the highest in Canada
Saskatchewan leads the country in year-over-year retail growth.
Between February 2021 and February 2022, the value of retail trade in Saskatchewan increased by 13% (seasonally adjusted), the highest value of any province.
“Saskatchewan continues to lead the country in key economic growth indicators,” said Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison. “Our government is increasing trade and export opportunities for Saskatchewan businesses, attracting record investment and supporting one of Canada’s most competitive business environments to ensure that growth continues.
From January 2022 to February 2022, the value of retail trade in Saskatchewan increased by 2.4% (seasonally adjusted), the third highest among all provinces.
In February 2022, the total value of retail trade in Saskatchewan exceeded $2 billion.
Saskatchewan also leads the country in several other key economic indicators. In February 2022, Saskatchewan recorded the strongest month-over-month and year-over-year growth in wholesale trade and manufacturing sales. During the same month, Saskatchewan recorded the second strongest month-over-month growth in merchandise exports.
