Retail volume up 1% in euro area, 0.9% in EU

In November 2021, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade increased by 1% in the euro area and by 0.9% in the European Union (EU) compared to October 2021, according to Eurostat estimates, the statistical office of the EU. In October 2021, retail volume increased by 0.3% in the euro zone and 0.4 percent in the EU.

In November last year, the calendar-adjusted retail sales index rose 7.8% in the euro area and 7.9% in the EU compared to the same month in 2020.

In the euro area in November 2021, the volume of retail trade increased by 1.6 compared to October for non-food products compared to the previous month. In the EU, the figure increased by 1.4 percent for non-food products.

The euro area includes Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands , Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia and Finland.
