Johanna Linda Pihlak, an analyst at Statistics Estonia, said turnover increased in grocery stores, in stores selling manufactured goods as well as in companies engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel.
“Compared to November 2020, sales increased 20% at stores selling manufactured goods, 21% at automotive fuel retail businesses and 4% at grocery stores,” Pihlak added. .
Among stores selling manufactured goods, year-over-year revenue growth was recorded across all businesses. Sales increased the most, by 26%, in stores selling by mail order or on the Internet. Above-average growth in turnover (24%) was also recorded in second-hand goods and non-store retail outlets (stalls, markets, direct sales) as well as in textile, clothing and footwear stores (23%).
In November, compared to October, the turnover of retail trade companies increased by 2%. According to data adjusted for seasonal variations and working days, the increase in turnover was 3%.
Over 11 months of 2021, the turnover of retail businesses increased by 12% compared to the same period of the previous year.
