The retail turnover value index for July 2022 increased by 11.4% and the retail turnover volume index increased by 1.5%, compared to corresponding month of the previous year, according to data published by the Cyprus Statistical Service.

The largest increase in value was recorded in the retail sale of automotive fuel in specialized stores, marking 26% compared to July 2021. This is followed by textiles, clothing, footwear with an increase of 13.8% and l appliances, furniture, lighting, equipment, building materials. , etc. recorded an increase of 12.4%.

On the other hand, the retail sale of automotive fuels in specialized stores saw the largest drop in volume, registering a fall of 14.4% in July 2022 compared to July 2021. The largest increase in volume was recorded by the sales of textiles, clothing and footwear, with 11.5%%.

For the period January-July 2022, the value index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 11.9%, with the largest change recorded in the retail sale of automotive fuel in specialized stores, up 37.5% compared to the same period in 2021.

For the same period, the volume index increased by 2.3% compared to January-July 2021, with textiles, clothing and footwear registering the largest increase, by 21.6%.
